Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Must be citizen of India.

Candidates have to fulfil Three Major criteria:

  • Minimum Education Qualification.The final year graduates can also apply.
  • Must fall into Prescribed age limit
  • Must Know the language of region he/she posted into.

Educational Qualification:

  • Must have a graduation degree in any discipline from Recognised College / University of India.
  • Candidate should have good computer operating knowledge.
  • The Final Year or final semester graduates is also eligible to apply for SBI PO 2019 exam.Candidates in their final year can apply only under the condition that, if called for interview he/she has to produce proof of having passed their graduation on or before due date.
  • Candidates who have Integrated Dual Degree certificate must make sure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before closing date.
  • A candidate who possesses the qualification of Chartered Accountant is also eligible to apply for SBI PO

Age limit:

The minimum age to apply for SBI PO 2019 exam is 21 years and maximum age is 30 years,that means the candidate must not be born after 02.04.1996 and must not be born before 02.04.1987.

SBI PO Age Relaxation:

Candidates who are interested in applying for the post of SBI PO 2019 exam also has to check the age relaxation criteria.

  • SC/ST, Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers with 5 years’ service completed and released – 5 years
  • OBC (Non Creamy Layer)-3 years
  • PWD(SC/ST)-15 years
  • PWD(OBC)-13 years
  • PWD(Gen)- 10 years.
  • Jammu & Kashmir domiciled during 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 – 5 years

Number of Attempts:

Candidates are not eligible to attempt the exam if they had crossed the maximum limit of number of attempts.

  • For General category- 4 attempts
  • For General (PWD) category- 7 attempts
  • OBC category- 7 attempts
  • OBC (PWD)- 7 attempts
  • SC/ST (PWD)- No restriction

Other Requirements:

  • Candidates will not be considered eligible for appointments.Defaulters in repayment of Loans/ Credit Card dues or those with adverse CIBIL reports or other external agencies.
  • Candidates are not eligible to apply for the post against whom there is/are adverse report regarding character & antecedents, moral turpitude.

How to apply?

  • First the candidates have to visit the official website www.sbi.co.in.
  • Search for the “Career with us” on the home page and click on it.
  • Select SBI PO 2019 Application form.
  • Click on Apply online
  • Fill all the Mandatory fields carefully with accurate details.
  • Upload scanned copies of Photograph of size 20 kb to 50 kb/signature in the size of 10kb to 20kb in JPEG format.
  • Now candidates have to pay the fee as per their category
  • Before submitting the Application click on Preview and make the changes if necessary.
  • After filling all the fields click on Submit to submit the application form.
  • For future use take a print of the submitted Application.

NOTE: Both Prelims and Mains exams are conducted in English/Hindi medium except in      specific Language Subject.

Penalty for Wrong Answer:

For both Prelims and Mains exam there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

2. SBI PO Mains Exam Pattern

The SBI PO Main Exam has a total of 250 marks, consisting of an objective test of 200 marks followed by a descriptive test of 50 marks.

ii. Descriptive test

The Descriptive Test is for 50 marks with a time limit of 30 min will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing  marks, to be decided by the Bank.

3.SBI PO Interview

The aggregate marks of qualified candidates in mains exam will be arranged in descending order in each category. The adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the bank who are qualified in both Objective and descriptive tests are called for Group exercises and interviews.The bank will decide the qualifying marks in Group exercises and interviews.

Candidates under ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause, who are qualifying in Group exercises and interviews.Candidates are not selected if they don’t submit the OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.
